Batyrov Farit


Farit A. Batyrov was born on February 25, 1942 in the village of Karalachik, Fedorovsky district of Bashkiriya ASSR. In 1959 after graduating from school he entered the Therapy Department of Bashkiriya State Medical Institute, from which he graduated in 1965. Farit got his first job in 1965 and worked as TB doctor for more than 50 years. He specialized in tuberculosis control in 1966 and after that he was appointed to the position of Head Doctor of TB Dispensary in the city of Tuymazy, Bashkiriya ASSR.
From 1968 to 1970 he was a clinical resident and post-graduate student in Central Tuberculosis Research Institute by the USSR Ministry of Health. From 1970 to 1978 Farit was a Head of Statistic Monitoring Department of Regional TB Dispensary and from 1978 to 1980 he was Head Doctor of Ufa Children TB Sanatorium. From 1981 to 1987 he was Head Doctor of Moscow Tuberculosis Research Institute by RSFR Ministry of Health. Starting from 1987 for more than 26 years he worked as Head Doctor of Municipal Clinical TB Hospital no. 7 by Moscow Health Department. For all this time he proved to be a talented, professional and highly qualified TB doctor and healthcare manager. During all years of his professional activities he was involved into research in tuberculosis control and public health. Simultaneously he was a teacher and researcher in Phthisiology Department of N.I. Pirogov Russian State Medical University and Phthisiology Department of Russian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Training.

Batyrov is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Correspondent Member of RANS, TB Doctor of of Superior Merit, Healthcare Manager of of Superior Merit, Presidium Member of Russian Society of Phthisiologists, Member of the Editorial Board of Journal Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, President of Charity TB Control Foundation, Winner of Moscow Healthcare Award in 2005, RF Excellent Worker of Public Health.
