Leonid I. Dvoretsky

Head of In-Patient Therapy Department no.2 of Faculty of General Medicine of First I.M. Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, Russian Ministry of Health.
Leonid I. Dvoretsky was born in Moscow on 19.06.1940. 
General Practitioner, Doctor of Medical Sciences (1989), Professor (1993). In 1964 he graduated from First Moscow Medical Institute, General Medicine Department. He worked as a general practitioner (1964-1965). In 1965-1968 he was a post-graduate student, in 1966-1969 he was a junior researcher of Biophysics Institute of USSR Ministry of Health. Since 1970 he has been working in the First Moscow Medical Institute (Moscow Medical Academy): Junior Researcher of Central Research Laboratory (1970-1972), Assistant (1972-1980), Associate Professor (1980-1991); Professor (1991-1999); Head (since 1999) of  In-Patient Therapy Department no.2, Faculty of General Medicine.
His research papers are devoted to various topics such as pulmonology, hematology, geriatrics, clinical microbiology and chemotherapy. Dr. Dvoretsky was the head or participated in the development of the protocol of diagnostics and anti-bacterial treatment of infections in the lower respiratory tract; he was involved into research devoted to diagnostics and treatment of internal diseases in elderly and senile patients. Dr. Dvoretsky published a number of articles on the culture, in particular he wrote a unique book "Music and Medicine", which was issued twice. He pays a lot of attention to teaching. 
He is a member of Alliance of chemotherapy doctors and clinical microbiologists.
